We highly recommend Blackhorn 209 powder and Remington STS 209 primers in our Patriot rifles. A good starting point is typically 100 grains by volume. We offer several bullets that offer excellent performance on game as well as more accuracy. The best all around choice is the 225 grain star tip.

ALL ORDERS ARE PROCESSED WITHIN 2 TO 10 BUSINESS DAYS (EXCLUDING WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS) AFTER RECEIVING YOUR ORDER CONFIRMATION EMAIL. PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR JUNK/SPAM FOLDERS IF YOU ARE MISSING YOUR ORDER CONFIRMATION EMAIL.

ALL RIFLES AND BARRELS HAVE SIGNIFICANT LEAD TIMES AND WILL NOT SHIP WITHIN 2 TO 10 BUSINESS DAYS. CURRENTLY WE ARE ESTIMATING UP TO A 20 WEEK LEAD TIME ON RIFLES AND BARRELS.

A CONFIRMATION EMAIL WILL BE SENT FOR ANY ORDER PLACED THAT IS BEING SHIPPED CONTAINING TRACKING NUMBERS. THESE TRACKING NUMBERS WILL NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION UNTIL THE PACKAGE/S ARE SCANNED BY THE CARRIER.

IN THE EVENT SOME ITEMS ON AN ORDER ARE BACK ORDERED, WE WILL NOT SPLIT THE ORDER INTO MULTIPLE SHIPMENTS. WE WILL HOLD THE ITEMS ON THE SHIPMENT UNTIL ALL ITEMS ARE READY TO SHIP. IN THE EVENT YOU WOULD PREFER SPLITTING AN EXISTING ORDER PLEASE CONTACT US. WE CAN CREATE ANOTHER SHIPMENT HOWEVER THERE WILL BE ADDITIONAL SHIPPING CHARGES.

SHIPPING INSURANCE/SIGNATURE REQUIREMENTS

IT IS OUR POLICY THAT ALL RIFLES ARE SHIPPED WITH INSURANCE FOR THE FULL COST OF THE ITEM AND AN ADULT SIGNATURE WHEN DELIVERED. THE INSURANCE AND SIGNATURE REQUIREMENTS ARE AUTOMATICALLY ADDED WHEN PLACING AN ONLINE ORDER.

We have added some info below to answer some common questions so we can focus on manufacturing and reducing lead times for everybody.

Our webstore has screws, sling studs, ramrods and other things that may get lost. These can easily be ordered via the online store.

General Patriot muzzleloader common questions.

Do I need to clean it?
We recommend using blackhorn 209 which will allow no cleaning between shots. Clean after the season or when storing for long periods of time. Use a cleaner recommended by the powder manufacturer, or Hoppes #9.
We recommended removing the breech plug, cleaning the threads and applying anti-sieze grease prior to storing for over 6 months.
The orange cock indicator does not show.
When breaking the action open, not pulling the break trigger is a common mistake. Just because the action opened, it may not be cocked. Pull the break trigger further back firmly until a click is heard and/or felt.
Can the safety be switched from right to left, or left to right?
No, it requires the appropriate trigger guard.
We prefer you do not purchase the wrong hand rifle from a dealer/retail store just to have it switched. There will be a $25 fee to perform this.
If the existing trigger housing is not in new (unfired) condition, we will also charge $50 to replace it with a new trigger housing.

Difficulty loading

If you are experiencing difficulty loading there are several simple solutions. New rifles have very clean barrels. When using sabots, they will load harder on the first shot.
If you are cleaning between shots, you may experience this on every shot.
Lube such as bore butter will help this. We offer .45 and .50 cal Harvester crush rib sabots, these will also reduce loading force significantly.
Black powders and substitutes with the exception of Blackhorn 209 are dirty and will likely require cleaning frequently.
Not cleaning with dirty powders/pellets may result in difficult loading.

Accuracy/grouping issues.

What one muzzleloader may like might not be what the next one likes. It may take some "load development" to find the best accuracy.

There is a 99% chance that our .45 caliber, 1-24 twist will shoot 1 moa with our 225gr & 250gr saboted bullets with 100 to 120 grains by volume of Blackhorn 209.
Be sure NOT to use muzzleloader specific primers with Blackhorn 209. You must use a standard shotgun primer with Blackhorn 209.

We now offer several high quality bullets for our .50 calibers on the webstore. If you are shooting a .50 caliber, we recommend trying these if there are issues with other bullets.

If you feel that your rifle will not group and has a problem, email mark@woodmanarms.com with your rifle serial number, name, address, phone number and a brief description of what loads you have tried.
We will discuss the best option to get it returned to us. Statistically, 99% of the rifles returned have grouped within 1 moa when we shoot them here. Please double check your load, primers and shooting rest etc.

Lead times/order status.

We estimate lead times as best we can. After covid-19 we face many challenges such as skilled labor shortages, broken supply chains and unforeseen extended delays with vendors and service companies we use.

It is important that we do not get inundated with status inquiries prior to the lead time we provide when ordering. We build orders as fast as we can provided we have parts.
If we have not completed an order, we do not have parts or a part to complete it, otherwise it will be completed.

If an order is placed on our webstore, an email receipt will be sent to the email provided. If you do not receive the confirmation email, they commonly go in the junk mail.
Please check the junk mail folder. If you still cannot find it, please email mark@woodmanarms.com and we will further investigate.

Pick up & shipping.

We currently allow orders to be picked up at our facility. We do not have a "store", it is our shop were we manufacture. We will send an email when an order is complete. If we don't receive a response, we will call. Ideal pickup times are Mon-Fri between 7-4.

If you need to change your order from shipped to pickup, please email mark@woodmanarms.com with your order number, name, address and phone. We will make note of it and at some point need to issue a refund for the amount paid for shipping. This is best done over the phone via credit card when we have completed the order.
